چکیده
Monogalactosyldiacylglycerol (MGDG) is the most abundant lipid on earth and constitutes about 50% of polar lipids in thylakoid membrane higher plants. MGDG synthase (MGD) key enzyme responsible for synthesis However, so far, function MGD gene plant stress responses still unknown, especially crop In this study, performances wild-type rice (Oryza sativa L. Nipponbare), OsMGD overexpression, RNA interference lines were analyzed under salt to clarify role stress. The results showed that, after 6 days NaCl treatment, OsMGD-overexpressing seedlings had biomass than rice, with significantly lower Na+ content K+ ratio shoots. Meanwhile, overexpression a significant increase contents chlorophyll carotenoid photosynthetic capabilities, including net rate, maximal quantum yield (Fv/Fm), effective PSII (ΦPSII), electron transport rate (ETR), coefficient photochemical quenching (qP), compared line. Also, contained 18:3 unsaturated fatty acid levels These indicate that participates regulation improving tolerance through protecting capabilities ion balance rice.

Maintenance of Chloroplast Structure and Function by Overexpression of the Rice MONOGALACTOSYLDIACYLGLYCEROL SYNTHASE Gene Leads to Enhanced Salt Tolerance in Tobacco.
In plants, the galactolipids monogalactosyldiacylglycerol (MGDG) and digalactodiacylglycerol (DGDG) are major constituents of photosynthetic membranes in chloroplasts. One of the key enzymes for the biosynthesis of these galactolipids is MGDG synthase (MGD). To investigate the role of MGD in the plant's response to salt stress, we cloned an MGD gene from rice (Oryza sativa) and generated tobacc...
متن کاملOverexpression of Rat Neurons Nitric Oxide Synthase in Rice Enhances Drought and Salt Tolerance
Nitric oxide (NO) has been shown to play an important role in the plant response to biotic and abiotic stresses in Arabidopsis mutants with lower or higher levels of endogenous NO. The exogenous application of NO donors or scavengers has also suggested an important role for NO in plant defense against environmental stress. In this study, rice plants under drought and high salinity conditions sh...
متن کاملOsMSR2, a novel rice calmodulin-like gene, confers enhanced salt tolerance in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
OsMSR2 is a novel calmodulin-like gene in rice. Previous study has been demonstrated that OsMSR2 was a cold, drought and heat-inducible gene. However, the role of OsMSR2 in rice stress response is still unclear. To reveal the function of OsMSR2 involved in stress response, the expression pattern and effects of overexpression of OsMSR2 on salt stress were analyzed in rice. Quantitative real-time...
متن کاملMutation of OsGIGANTEA Leads to Enhanced Tolerance to Polyethylene Glycol-Generated Osmotic Stress in Rice
Water deficit is one of the most important environmental stresses limiting plant growth and crop yield. While the identification of many key factors involved in the plant water deficit response has greatly increased our knowledge about the regulation system, the mechanisms underlying dehydration tolerance in plants are still not well understood. In our current study, we investigated the roles o...
متن کاملOverexpression of Phosphomimic Mutated OsWRKY53 Leads to Enhanced Blast Resistance in Rice
WRKY transcription factors and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades have been shown to play pivotal roles in the regulation of plant defense responses. We previously reported that OsWRKY53-overexpressing rice plants showed enhanced resistance to the rice blast fungus. In this study, we identified OsWRKY53 as a substrate of OsMPK3/OsMPK6, components of a fungal PAMP-responsive MAPK c...
